Session: Project Management for Social Impact Blockchain Projects

There is great potential for blockchain and other DLTs in social impact. With distributed ledger technology, some of the most pressing challenges of our time can be addressed, including climate change, poverty, inequality, food waste, fraud, corruption, and other areas. Technologies have great potential to help us achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

The Social Impact Group of INATBA produced a report published this year, which presents the challenges and opportunities faced by blockchain projects addressing the SDGs. Based on the results of the report the session will deal with the questions of what social impact DLTs can provide by referring to existing projects and use cases. The talk will also cover the highlights of the report and present the challenges and opportunities of blockchain projects working on social impact

But how do you manage a project that is based on new technologies to solve problems, where you have to expect a lot of unexpected things.
What use cases can be found in Blockchain Projects?
How do such projects differ from other projects?
What to consider when managing those projects?
To what extent can the added value/success of such projects (financial/social) be measured.

By answering the questions above this session will provide inspiration and lessons learned based on experience in project management of blockchain projects in social impact.

Key Takeaways

  • Use cases of blockchain for social impact
  • Challenges and lessons learned for managing blockchain projects
  • What to consider when managing social impact blockchain projects
